Karate Moves
By Jeffrey Simmons

Karate moves are often times used in self-defense, and in the study of how your body moves through power and strength. While karate is associated with self-defense, many people think that if you study karate you can become tougher, but overall, karate brings out a person's inner strengths and focuses on the ability to strengthen muscles in combination with the mind for a toughness that is more than just defensive and powerful.

Where you can study karate moves

Many sources are available for your personal study of karate, with some of these forms including videos, books and classes. If you are persistent in your studies, you can learn karate from a video. The most important feature about using the video is that you should also keep to a schedule, practicing the moves, stances and the forms of karate daily or at least three times a week to make progress in learning this art.

Books are another source for learning about karate, but this is also one of the most difficult forms of learning the art. In a book you are not going to be able to see the entire more, or feel the motivation of another person's voice while you are trying the karate moves or the karate stances. A book can show you pictures, but only of one portion of the karate move, and the follow through and the correct placement of your hands, feet and your entire body become important during the entire learning process. Combining a karate book and video will give you

motivation and examples for personal home study of karate moves.

Finding a local karate class is going to be the best option

For the study of karate and karate moves, your best option is going to be finding a local karate class or teacher and learning through the visual and the use of acting out the moves. While it can be more expensive to learn karate moves in this manner, your dedication and continual practice with another person or a group of people is going to give you a great amount of positive input on the art of learning karate.
